How I Support Our Clients
I am a seasoned paralegal with over 15 years of experience navigating the complexities of long-term disability claims. I first joined Riemer Hess in 2009, and throughout my tenure, I have taken on supervisory responsibilities and handled some of the firm’s most complex cases. My extensive experience has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of LTD claims, case management, and the Firm’s commitment to client advocacy. My years of experience have given me the ability to think critically – I know what evidence will strengthen a case and how to obtain it.
Drawing upon my years of experience, I am currently focused on the ongoing management and protection of approved LTD cases. In this capacity, I have been able to obtain evidence that others were unable to get and assist clients in navigating the complex administrative requirements associated with continued eligibility. Furthermore, I have been able to curate and develop relationships with medical professionals and insurance representatives allow me to obtain the best results for our clients.
What I Find Most Rewarding
Helping people maintain the benefits that they are entitled to is extremely important to me. I understand how vital these benefits are to clients – it is their livelihood. It is important to understand that once benefits are approved, the relationship with clients does not necessarily end. Once benefits are approved, it is vital to help clients maintain the benefits they have already fought to obtain. I have forged many close relationships with my clients and find that to be extremely rewarding. Knowing that I have made a difference in the lives of my clients means the world to me. They are already going through so much – health challenges, stress, financial concerns, etc. As a paralegal, I am an advocate for my clients. My goal is to help alleviate even some of the burden and give them one less thing to worry about.
My Background
My whole career has been built around helping individuals. I became a disability paralegal because it was the best way for me to help others. I initially started at a firm that handled Social Security benefits where I helped those with disabilities obtain the benefits they are entitled to. It was there that I realized my work made a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Over the course of my years at Riemer Hess I have grown and become more proficient in helping my clients obtain the benefits they are entitled to. I bring a detailed oriented and compassionate approach to my work, recognizing the importance of protecting the benefits upon which clients depend. I obtained my Masters in Social Work in 2014 and that has since allowed me to not only think outside the box, but has further strengthened my compassion and empathy.
Outside of the Office
Outside of the office, my family is of the utmost importance. You can typically find me spending time with my three children and my husband while out and about on Long Island. I also enjoy attending Broadway shows, reading contemporary fiction, writing short stories of my own, and “geeking” out over anything related to Marvel/DC comics. I am a huge cat lover and have 4 cats of my own.
